Field Account Manager Spotlight: Stephanie Maslo
This post is the first in a series of interviews from folks in the field (both SmartPay sales team members and partners). We’ll be sharing more SmartPay stories over the next few months.
This month we interviewed Stephanie Maslo, SmartPay’s Field Account Manager in the Chicago area. Stephanie has been with SmartPay for almost a year.
Describe a typical day as a Field Account Manager.
As a Field Account Manager with SmartPay, I wouldn’t describe my days as typical because they are different every day. Some of our daily tasks include visiting stores, making phone calls, reviewing reporting, email follow-ups, prospecting new clients, riding along with corporate carrier teams, and importantly hosting trainings. The list goes on! But that’s what keeps the job exciting.
What do you like most about your role?
I enjoy the daily changing environment. I love meeting new people and the relationships that have been made over the years of being in the wireless industry. I also enjoy representing SmartPay because our roles as a FAM can have a direct impact of growth on a business!
Tell us about a challenge you’ve encountered as a FAM (and how you resolved it).
Being the only FAM in a large market can often have you pulled in many different directions. It can be difficult trying to be available during all times of store business hours and visiting locations in all different areas of the territory. I resolve this by using the tools that are given to me such as remote training webinars, group chats, email communication, and established relationships to accomplish what is needed.
How did you get started in your industry?
I started in the wireless industry as a Sales Representative for Sprint back in 2008. I moved on as a Field Sales Representative for Kyocera, later promoted as a Territory Account Manager. From there I became a Market Development Manager with Beats by Dre. Then had the privilege of becoming a Field Account Manager for SmartPay!
Do you have any tips/suggestions to share with dealers on selling SmartPay?
A suggestion that I have for the dealers using SmartPay is being proactive with your sales team to educate them of our product. If your area has a local Field Account Manager to reach out to them to help you get your team on board and comfortable closing sales with SmartPay. We both have the same goal, to grow your business!
What do you enjoy most about the Chicago area?
The diversity and culture of the people. With the diversity, there’s always a TON of great food options! Summers are always fun because there’s a lot of events and festivals to attend.
Are you a dealer who would like to be spotlighted in a future blog post? We’d love to hear more about how SmartPay has changed your business. Feel free to reach out to us at email@example.com with “SmartBlog” in the subject line!
